I'm cheating Fashion with Books....

Holaaaaaa! como les fue de fin de semana!!!! a mí muy bien, fuí al tianguis cultural que se pone en enfrente del Parque Agua Azul en Guadalajara, el sábado, lo malo es que el domingo amanecí super enferma de la garganta, porque con el calor y los cambios de temperatura era inevitable... ¿pues se acuerdan que me iba a comprar el libro que les platiqué de Juan Rulfo? pues siii me lo compre y además se me atravesó otro que me encantó! uno sobre textiles mexicanos... estoy enamorada de los bordados que aparecen en este libro! muchas veces estas cosas las valoran más los extranjeros que nosotros... pero por eso fui al tianguis cultural para comprarme algunas blusas con estos bordados y si que encontré... luego se las enseño mientras aquí las fotos de mis compritas:

Hello Everyone! How was your weekend! I bought two gorgeous books this weekend! I've been buying books instead of clothes this past months, and while I went to buy the book "100 photographs by Juan Rulfo" I found his other one I totally fall in love with. Here you can see all the beautiful textiles that exist all over Mexico made by different cultures in different states like Michoacán, Oaxaca or Chiapas. I love all the color and lovely figures... That's why on Saturday I went to a local market and buy some blouses with this textiles... I'll show them to you later... but now here are the pictures of my two amazing books!

Rémi Gaillard es un francés que se hizo famoso subiendo videos tipo sketch con bromas en plenas ciudades de Francia. Es muuuy chistoso porque nadie se espera las bromas que va a hacer... lo conocí por un compañero francés del trabajo que me pasó los links y son bromas pesadas e irreverentes pero muy buenas. Rémi Gaillard is a french dude who is famous for making joke videos with real people in France... He is really funny a little bit rude but you will laugh a lot. The most funny part of his videos is when people around him doesn't know what he is doing or he suprises them with some joke. El México de Juan Rulfo (Juan Rulfo's Photography)

El libro de Pedro Páramo lo leí cuando era adolescente y no le entendí nada. Pero después de que fui a Comala, Colima hace dos meses quise volverlo a leer. Y ahora sí le entendí y me quedé muy impactada con esta única novela del escritor Juan Rulfo. Dicen que para entenderle totalmente lo tienes que leer 3 veces. Yo ya voy en la segunda. Dejaré pasar un tiempo para volverlo a leer. Es una gran novela, un tesoro de la literatura hispanoamericana. Pero no nada más en su novela Juan Rulfo reflejó el vivir y sentir de los pueblos de México sino también en sus fotografías. Fue un gran fotógrafo de la vida diaria de los habitantes del México de hace 60 años. Y la fuerza que emanan sus fotografías son algo que todos deberíamos admirar porque ese México es parte de nuestra historia. Hay un libro que muero por comprar que se llama "100 fotografías de Juan Rulfo" fue publicado en 2010 y lo venden en Gandhi. Así que eso será mi comprita del fin de semana. Y por cierto les recomiendo mucho la novela de Pedro Páramo. ¿Ya lo leyeron?

I read the famous novel of mexican writer Juan Rulfo (Pedro Paramo) when I was a teenager but I did not understand it. Two months ago when I went to Comala, Colima. The mexican town where it takes place the novel. I wanted to read it again and this time I totally liked it. They say you have to read it three times in order to understand it completely. This is my second time and I hope to read it again. The novel captures so well the feelings of the people in Mexico 60 years ago. But not only the writer left this great novel but also he left a lot of photographs from that time. Mexico's towns 60 years ago. Here are somo of his photographs but there is a book called "100 photographs from Juan Rulfo" and I will buy it this weekend. Have you read this novel? is has been translated to several languages.

Hola! como estan? yo ando en friega con mil cosas que estan pasando en mi vida y en mi trabajo pero todo bien! ya les contaré después... La verdad no he tenido nada de tiempo de andar de fotógrafa por aquí y por allá... pero trataré de actualizar lo más que pueda este espacio... con algunas fotos de archivo y demás cosillas... La última vez que fuimos a Aguascalientes nos fuimos por la Libre desde Guadalajara, me gusta más porque pasas por muchos pueblos y el camino se hace más corto, además es muy segura si te vas a buena hora... entonces llegamos a San Juan de los Lagos por unos botes de cajeta de leche... que me encaaaanta y aprovechamos para dar la vuelta por el centro y visitar a la Virgen de San Juan que es de las más milagrosas y visitadas de todo México junto con la de Zapopan y la de Talpa de Allende... curiosamente todas en Jalisco pero bueno es un lugar muy pintoresco, llegamos como a las 8:30 am y ya estaba lleno de peregrinos y de puestos con cosas para vender. Estos tendetes y tianguis en México son tan antigüos como nuestra misma cultura prehispánica... esto es herencia 100% de los antigüos mexicanos... bueno no tomé muchas fotos pero aquí les dejo un poquito de este lindo pueblo alteño. (de los altos de Jalisco).

Hello Everyone! I haven't had the chance to go out and take pictures like before... many things are happening in my life and work but I will try not to be so far away from the blog. Last time I went to visit my parents to Aguascalientes we took the old road, the one that you don't have to pay, and we make a quick stop in this town called San Juan de los Lagos where a very famous Virgin Mary is visited by millions of people all year round. They make a delicious milk caramel (cajeta de leche) and It was so early and already visitors where all over downtown. They dance to the Virgin, they go ask her for favors and it is very known for all the miracles she makes. I bought the milk caramel and hit the road again.

X Men (Comic, Cartoon, Movies)

Pues fui a ver la película el Sábado con toda mi familia y me encantó!!! esta serie de comics salió por primera vez en los años 60's y yo en los 80's vi las caricaturas y era fan, después salieron las películas y pues todas me han gustado... aunque claro yo esperaba ver a los X men con sus trajes amarillos y pues no habían salido así hasta esta nueva película que se estrenó el fin de semana y claro porque todo está ambientado en los años 60's... De hecho la serie de Héroes es super parecida a los X men por el simple hecho de que sus protagonistas son mutantes... así que ya vemos como ha marcado este comic la historia del entretenimiento... Mi favorito porsupuesto es Wolverine... el actor Hugh Jackman me parece guapísimo y la actitud que le pusieron en las películas es lo mejor! Bueno ahora ya saben que soy suuuper fan...

Hello everyone! I went to see the new X men movie on Saturday! I really liked it! it takes place in the 60's just when the comic started soo I thought it was very nice to see the first mutants and everything! I start watching the X-men cartoons on the 80's and I've seen all the movies, I'm a really a big fan of this comic. Actually the american Tv Serie Heroes is obviously based in this comic just because all the characters discover that they are mutants... My favorite character is Wolverine... And Hugh Jackman is sooo handsome, I love him in all the X men movies! Do you like this comic? Have you seen the movies?

The Party & The Dress

Hola! Estuve jugando un poco con fondos de internet y vestidos lindos de net-a-porter... Iba a ir este fin de semana a Ajijic pero mis papás vienen a visitarme así que tendrá que ser para otra ocasión! ¿ustedes que tienen planeado? Yo creo que voy a ir al cine... por cierto la de Hangover 2 me gustó, está muy chistosa. Y muero por ver la nueva de X-men. De hecho no sé porqué no les había dicho que soy fan de los X-men desde que era niña. Bueno ahí ya saben algo nuevo de mí.

Hi! I was playing with some pictures I found on the Internet of Wedding Receptions and pretty dresses from net-a-porter... I was going to spend the weekend in Ajijic (a gorgeous town near Guadalajara) but my parents are coming to visit me today, so I will go maybe next weekend... Maybe I go to the movies tomorrow... btw I saw Hangover 2 and I liked it is a very funny movie... and I can't wait to see the new movie from the X-men. I haven't told you but I'm a big fan of X-men comics, cartoons and movies since I was a little girl.

Flickr Group "La Vuelta al Mundo": Naranja en tu ciudad (Orange in the City)

Bueno este mes empecé con muchas ganas a fotografíar para el grupo en Flickr de La Vuelta al Mundo pero a mitad de mes pasaron muchas cosas con mi vida que la verdad la fotografía la he dejado en el olvido... mal muy mal porque me gusta y me relaja mucho... así que Junio haré todo lo posible por tomar más fotos para el grupo. El mes de Mayo tuvimos que fotografiar el Naranja en nuestra ciudad y esto fué lo que me encontré en la mía:

This month I wanted to take so many pictures for the Flickr Group of "La Vuelta al Mundo" (Around the world) but so many things happened to me this month that I barely took 4 pictures... This month were supposed to take pictures of the Orange things, places, anything that was in our city. And this is what I found:

Una iglesia naranja enmedio de la calle ( An orange church in the middle of the street)

Un árbol con hermosas flores naranja ( A beautiful tree with gorgeous orange flowers)

En Octubre se celebran los Juegos Panámericanos y toda la ciudad está en obras. (In October will take place the Panamerican Games and all the city is being like this to make the streets better)

Una tienda con cortina naranja a las 8:30 am y un taxi metiche. (A store at 8:30 am with people walking in the street and a Yellow Taxi)

Me gustó fijarme en algo específico de la ciudad, encontré muchísimas cosas naranja y eso me relajó en los ratos del inteso tráfico.
